Response to the Poll: Entering the Preparation Phase

47-2 in favor of starting the translation.... That's quite the landslide! It seems that the fandom wants this translation to happen, sooner rather than later. I understand the malaise over Fire Emblem 3's remake; there hasn't been a single sign of localization (save for the translated title appearing in a random list in Nintendo Power), and FE12 is arguably the best Fire Emblem game to be released in some time. Despite that, there is still time for Intelligent Systems to announce the game.

To prevent the chance of us starting a translation, only to have IS announce an official one, the actual work will not begin until July 15th, one year after the game's initial release. However, in the coming two months, barring the game's announcement, we will be assembling a team and laying the ground-work for this project.

What we really need for this translation are people to translate the text. Blazer and I will mostly be handling the technical end of things (although I may be the script editor as well), but all the hacking skills in the world are useless when there is no translated script. If you have any other skills that you feel would be valuable to a project like this, translators aren't the only thing we're looking for. E-mail Blazer at smashfire17@gmail.com if you're interested in helping.

The bottom line: bookmark this page, because the project has entered its preparation stages.

EDIT: Poll is now at 111-22 in favor of starting now (although I'm sorry to say it won't happen) with some people thinking we should wait even longer and 1 person saying we shouldn't do a translation at all (probably a joke...).

It's nice to see people are still voting though. Just the fact that people exist here who are reacting is motivation to work hard if we have to do this translation after all. Speaking of translating, I think we got ourselves a pretty good all-around translator. More details to come, though. :P

  2. NDS has still shown interest in still localizing NDS games despite the release of the 3DS

  9. I am dying to play this. FE has to be one of my favorite franchises, and the fact they haven't so much as talked about localizing it pains me. :\

It would be absolutely heroic if you got a full translation going. I haven't played the current patch cause I don't want to play it without the story. :(

  10. Than you for the effort, gods among men.

Also, it might be best to wait until the E3 is over

  12. Yo I already have another translator and no offense but I'm looking for very experienced people who will know what they are doing without external resources (like a dictionary) and will do top-notch quality translations, taking into account specific lingual aesthetics and whatnot. But I really appreciate the offer, thanks.

AND FYI, I still AM looking for another translator, because we plan to have 2 good ones in order to speed up the translation process, I am just going to be a little bit more picky than "somewhat knowledge of the language" (once again no offense, I am just looking to make a professional translation).

  13. I was hoping that NOA would have come to their senses by announcing a localization of FE12 at E3. How foolish I was to believe such a thing!

Anyway, the best of luck to you on this project.

  14. Goodluck on this translation. I'll be eternally grateful for it considering fe12 for ds WAS NOT announced during E3 which pretty much confirms it isnt comming our way.

  15. Hi!!! I need some help here...
You see...I was planning to do a spanish translation of the game, but I don't know how to hack the game itself, I have some experience translating some SNES games from english to spanish, but I have never translated a game from japanese to spanish or english, neither translate a DS game, that's why I need your help.
If you want to help me, get in touch with me, my e-mail is sirius2708@gmail.com. if you're not interesed in helping me, send me an e-mail too, but before deciding take this in mind: there are so many people(including myself) that would love to have an spanish version of the game.
Oh!! I almost forgot, I also could help you by testing the game, anyway I'll wait for your answer, bye!!!
