Vergil Wins with a Landslide!

Garnering 67% of 521 votes cast, it looks like Vergil has won with an outstanding margin! To put things in perspective, Vergil collected 3 times as many votes as its nearest challenger, Belves, and twice the votes of both challenges combined.

With such a landslide victory, it looks like Vergil will become the project's very first official outright name change. Goodbye, Belf, your name shall hardly be missed.

Stay tuned as we continue to ask for fan input. We've still got names to decide, so keep an eye for a new poll in the coming days.

  1. AWESOME :D I'm pumped, I look forward to the next poll!

    Also, this is for Arch, this is totally unrelated, but do you have any idea when Elibean Nights will finish? I know its totally off-topic, but I don't know where else to ask >_<

  4. Hurray Vergil! This seems like a really great way to reach out to the fans of this translation, and it's really starting to feel like an authentic localization to me with the names too! I really look forward to seeing your progress, and if you ever need an extra hand for translating, let me know! Thanks for doing this translation for us!

  5. Thank god for Vergil. I would have died laughing everytime he came onscreen if he was called Bell.

  6. Thankfully he doesn't even have any dialog when he joins, just a line or two from a base conversation and his like death quote, IIRC... >_>

    That and you can only die once, not everytime ;)

    @Ravan are you an experience Japanese-English translator with a good amount of free time?

  8. chapter 7? lol, we're on the prologue. We haven't started mass translating yet, for various reasons. When we do, we'll be sure to let you know how progress goes, but translating is a LOOOOONG process, it usually takes several years but since we're a fast (IMO) group hopefully it'll only take one year...

  10. It's strange Blazer what you said... I know translating is a very long process, of course, but normally it's not the longest thing you do when you translate a game, the hacking part and by this I mean, inserting the text is usually what takes the longest time. Anyway I suppose that finishing the patch will probably take one year, or maybe a little more. But it's cool to know that you are a team who is fast, I hope though that the quality will be here, and from what I saw it's a translation with quality.

    If only guys like you could translate some Tales of games... Ha ha, don't take this as a request.

  11. Honestly, I'm not too experienced, I simply just translate some things in games for my friends, for example, the Tales of games with some parts, and the recent Tales of Xillia trailers. I'm a level 4 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test if that matters anything, and my English isn't too bad if I may say so myself. I have lots of spare time on the weekends, and sometimes on weekdays too if I don't have too much homework. That's really about it! If you want to ask me more, please let me know at ravan5019@hotmail.com

  12. BELF SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN OPTION! *shakes fist*

    Still, I'm happy enough we'll be able to play this in english, thank you so much for all your hard work!

  13. How do you use the patches I can't find any instructions

  14. @Anonymous you just drag the clean non patched FE 12 rom onto the patch and it will patch it automatically.

  15. Blazaa, just wondering.. do you mean a year from when you start translating just the text, or the entire process of completing the patch, and if so when would you say you "started"

  16. (in order of the comments posted after my most recent comment)

    @Anonymous thanks

    @Barbatos if you have multiple people working on things you can have quality AND speed, which is why we want multiple people. Regarding translating being the longest part, FE12 does have a lot of text, however inserting it has been made easy since our hackers (myself included) and programmer (the awesome Nintenlord) have been working on getting a great text compiler/dissector to make text extracting and inserting much much easier. In other words, we've been dealing with technical issues more or less, and have only been doing minor translations, but once we start on translating dialog, everything's going to be a much more straightforward process, and maybe much more boring, even. XD

    I'm also a fan of the Tales games but most of them have either been localized or translated anyway (I liked the Tales of Innocence translation myself and have talked to the translation head of that project on a few occasions). Though if you have any requests, you can e-mail me at smashfire17@gmail.com personally (as it's not really related to Fire Emblem).

    @Ravan it sounds cool but... I can't be sure if you're good or not. I'm not familiar with language proficiency tests so... I'll just e-mail you when I have a chance, thanks.

    @BARF lolol BARF BARF

    @Anonymous see post below you (instructions are included in the download--just right-click and hit "extract" on the .zip file and a folder with a bunch of files will come out)

    @Escorian thanks for helping

    @kbtennis I can't really say man, just a year in general... *shrug* I mean I guess it'd probably take a year from when we start massing translating, but yeah... I really don't know, and I can't be sure of anything, so please just be patient.
