Story progress 1

Aveyn Knight

I think it's been good news all around with regards to the translation team. As Blazer mentioned earlier, we've made a major breakthrough in terms of certain graphics... but I'll discuss that at a later date since the subject of this post is to show some progress of Agromono's hard work on the main story : )

Screenshots are from Prologue 2 and 3. As usual, the text is not final.

    One thing: "Caeda". Is she not translated as "Shiida" in FE11, or am i on the wrong track?

    We're basing the translation patch off Nintendo of America's localisation of Shadow Dragon, which uses Caeda : )

    I check the site at least twice a day along with informing my friends of any updates on the progress.

    Actually, the spelling of the word "fiance"/"fiancee" is dependent on the gender of the person it refers to. In this case, lack of accent aside, "fiancee" is correct.

    The point of saying they aren't final is so that people don't try to correct them. >_> And by the way, both of your corrections are not appropriate anyway. That's why you can't just judge the screenshot like that. :( Sorry yo

    I want to play this game in English JUST as bad as you do, believe me >____>

    @Kiki you're probably playing on the (E) version of Shadow Dragon, this uses the (U) version. (Caeda makes a lot more sense than Shiida anyway, double i's are so rare and odd, at LEAST in American English but I think in English as a whole double i's are just like "what the fuck is that?" unless it's like "skiing" or something (verb "ski" with ending "ing).

    Oh wait I think I just started up the Caeda vs. Shiida vs. Sheeda argument again. OSHI-

    Augh, can't believe I didn't see this project.

    Are you still short on Translators? My Japanese is a little out of practise, but I've worked as part of a 3-person translation group that covered all 5 volumes of Mazinger Z.

    Either way, will be paying a lot of attention to this project, there hasn't been enough FE in my life this last year. D:

    We may be OK for now, I'm not sure how the others feel about another translator but I'd personally be glad to have one in order to speed the process up, so uh... I'll ask them and get back to you on that, LunaSaint.

    Why do you always say that double "ii's" are rare ?
    Even if they are its still Shiida .
    I prefer Sheeda though .

    When they publish the final version, you should just mod Caeda-->Shiida/Sheeda if you don't like it, three or so post gone to waste because of it. They're even giving you the modding tools on the Downloads section, i'm planning to do it when they release it, let's just agree on Caeda until then.

    I don't think that changing the name is necessary since whatever they though of the proper name is the team decision not ours

    So let's just support them at all we can without debating about the "caeda vs shiida" thing again

    Personally I prefer Shiida (Caeda kind of means murder in Latin xD) But I'm fine with whatever you guys choose, I mean you are super nice and translates the game for us, that's enough for me and the most of us I think :D

    Anyways, I can't wait until the full game is published, I was really depressed when Nintendo announced they would not let the game go oversea's, my friend from Japan bragged of having the game and all; I heard it's really great, I loved Shadow Dragon in the DS, and I can't wait to get this one. Well, don't rush, do the project best as you can!

    @Ian lol. 1) vid's funny 2) Heroes of Light and Shadow is 3x better than Shadow Dragon. At least. And the graphic style is mostly the same. Of course I'm biased but still, few would argue that Shadow Dragon is on par with or better than Heroes of Light and Shadow. (And if they did argue they'd be arguing against a majority XD)

    @Anonymous Sigh, can someone else answer his very obvious question so that I don't get mad? I really am having a hard time controlling myself because I've had a bad day. Thanks. ^_^

    Hi Blazer! It's been quite a long time! I didn't come here from the last time because I didn't have Internet anymore. But I kept a thought about this site in my mind.

    So, good to see that you made some progress, of course there are things that can be improved, but I'm sure you aware of it, and enough skilled to improve them yourself, without anyone pointing you the things to improve without being invited to do so.

    I'm really glad to see all this progress, there are still a lot more to do, but still, it's really nice to see you made progress.

    And Blazer, I will help you, as you asked it.

    To the last Anonymous: The patch will be released when it's done! The next version of the patch will be released when it's done too! So stop asking for a release date, because we will never have one, and it's normal because they don't know how much time is still needed to do the patch! So, like all of us, be patient and stop asking for a date of release!

    and to add what you said, if we did have an idea we'd tell you. we're not douchebags, we know what fans want and we give them as much as we can when we can, unlike official projects. and if we don't do something, there's a good reason. =)

    For the Shiida vs Caeda vs Sheeda thing :

    Why wont you just make three different patches ?
    One with Shiida one with Caeda and one with Sheeda .
    I guess everyone would be fine with that :D

    To the last anonymous, and before Blazer see your suggestion:

    It is completely idiot for them to make three different patches with such low differences between the patches...

    Besides, Blazer and other people here already said that a tool allowing to change the name of the units will be released, you will have to use it yourself if you can't bear the names the team would choose.

    This is why I don't understand how can people still argue about the names... What is pretty sure though is that it must be really annoying for members of the project to see such arguments, for things they already gave their position... So, everyone, be nice, and stop this sterile argument!

    Anyway, good continuation for the fe12 translation team! It pains me to play the game without understanding most of the dialogues. But as I prefer playing lunatic mode directly, it takes some time, so I couldn't resist!
