Base conversations - translation complete

TheEnd

It isn't my intention to overshadow Blazer's post, but... translation news.

As the title says, the basic translation of the eight base conversation files has been finished. Our localizers are already working on them so they'll be more presentable and coherent with Shadow Dragon's US version - after all, we know that a good translation doesn't need to just be accurate, it needs to look accurate.

Now, what to translate next...

  3. No no, please, overshadow my post. :P It wasn't too important anyway. And I'll have to update the progress page later since we're now at 100% for base conversations. =D

  9. It's incredible how professional you all are! It's incredible and I, along with hundreds (if not more) of others, are incredibly fortunate there are people like you.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
(I know this translation isn't changing the world, but just a reminder of how most of everything that happens for the better is due to small groups of people like you.)

I only get jap chats and bad names in those chats from v2.0.1 (during the cutscenes)

  12. It's great that you have already done with the base conversations, it was waaaay much faster than I thought, and it's not that I'm desesperate for getting the patch already done, but PLEASE get it done as soon as possible, now with all of the SOPA issues and the Megaupload shutdown (rest in peace Megaupload), we don't know what might be the destiny of the internet, including this blog...

Anyway you have done an excellent job, you're quite professional, and I agree with Blazer, we all hope that FE13 comes to America with an official translation and not with a fanmade translation

  13. Ah...RIP Mega. It's all right, the online community will always find ways to circumvent problems.

Totally excited for this project though :)

Do you guys need any help? I'm a computational media major (..it's like creative computing) and totally willing to help out in my free time in whatever way!

  16. To be brief, there is no way to patch it on a Mac currently, and ROM sharing is prohibited on this website due to its illegality. Furthermore we do not permit the sharing of or discussion of ROMs, i.e. we do not serve ROMs here and you cannot ask for them here. You will have to look for help elsewhere. Sorry for the inconvenience; have a good day.

  17. Will the final patch be available on a mac?
If not, i think ima have to buy a pc... want this game so badly...

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hopefully, yes. I'm confident there is some way to get it to work on a Mac. I just haven't discovered said way yet enough to make it available and explain how it works. XP

  19. ...I use MultiPatch on the mac. Doesn't that work? I've been able to patch lots of things with it...

  21. Blazer is mad at me it seems. Well! There goes me commenting! I think I'll just sit back and watch... don't want to get in trouble here... (*knew I shouldn't of asked that!*)

  22. Oh! OH FORGET MY LAST COMMENT!

Blazer! I know how to work it on a mac! I figured it out today!

there is a program called wineskin which can turn an .EXE into a mac run-able file. It can be annoying to work with, but it works!

    1. Yeah, you can run the Wine emulator to get some programs working, but compatibility isn't explicitly supported. So it's more like if works, then lucky you :) Though that still leaves Linux-based users out in the dust. I suppose the professionalism doesn't extend to supporting everyone >_>

  23. Simple solution. Put standard patching program, patch, and rom on flash drive. Insert into someone's PC. Patch file. PROFIT.

  24. Sigh, I wrote a long explanation for you guys but then the web page felt like exiting itself so here is my short(er) explanation:

    1) Comments are deleted by administration for some reason, we don't have time to just go deleting comments without reason. Those reasons aren't meant for you to be known, but it's likely talking about something illegal or inappropriate morally.

    2) We will support Mac on the final patch, but right now we have other things to do. As for other OS's, we're hackers and translators, not programmers. If you guys run stuff that is so odd that we don't have the resources to support it, then you should be used to having to work around the problems with running those OS's. I don't even know of a Linux-based emulator, heck I don't know crap about Linux. All I know is Desmume works on Windows and Macs and the average person uses one of the two, even if there are plenty of people who don't. We only have time to help the majority, and if you're the minority then I'm really surprised you're disappointed, given that you've likely chosen to be part of the minority, instead of just buying a PC or at least a Mac (if everyone could just be consistent life would be so much easier).

    3) Kiki brought up a really simply solution for getting this to work on other operating systems. Try it.

    4) I'm tired, bai. -_-
