Heroes of Shadow Revival

Hi folks, I have two things to share:

1) The new Heroes of Shadow are coming to an internet near you.

2) I've added a new tab onto the website.

3) 1 and 2 are related.

It's still early stages, so I'll keep you posted with new info as things progress.

  3. Have you guys thought of translating some of the older games? I don't think FE 4 or 5 ever got a complete translation...

    1. I can't speak for the team, but FE4's patch is all but complete and is just missing some of the ending, which I've heard is a pain to code.

      Personally I'd like to work on FE5, but barring some odd memes, that game's translation is pretty solid too.

      The only issue is the lack of menus, which again I wouldn't want to touch (and actually I did make my own menu translation years ago for a side project, so I know how annoying it is).

    2. (Soledai from SF) Wait...? FE5's translation had memes? Wow, I had no clue, and like, what are they?
      ...Also, if you were to work on FE5 for whatever reason, I think I would join you with that even though I'm talent-less (If you'd have me)

    By the way, I had a question for you, Aveyn. Serenes Forest doesn't have a Game Script for FE12 yet (the text is there on the game's index, but just black, not a link), but you guys already have a script, right? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but... doesn't that make it a little bit easy to add?

    1. not really. the script we use for hacking and a practical script are formatted pretty differently. For one, the "hacking-script" is riddled with lots of different codes and... jargon, I suppose. It's true that it's easy in that the text is there, but it'll still take a lot of time for it to be converted/formatted, implemented, etc., and Vincent's a busy guy, sadly :(

    I know Awakening finally localized some of the FE12 characters' names. Will your translation reflect that in an update?

  14. Have you thought of bringing out a patch for FE12 with European names? And now that there are some more official names known (Legion).

    1. Former, no: this is an N.A. localization, we don't have the time, resources, motivation, etc. to make multiple patches, sorry.

      Latter, i.e. updating the names in the game because of new name localizations from FE13, we've thought about it, but we won't be able to do it for a while due to various reasons (time, no one around, not all the names are out, etc.), but maybe several months from now once all the DLC is out and once everyone gets settled down (maybe in the Summer) there might be some work on it. No guarantees.

  15. Have you thought about translating other games? There are some needing pro hackers.
    A brilliant Summon Night X as an example. A lot of the translation is complete but since the main hacker abandoned the project they stuck at 0.001 patch with nothing but the menu translated.

      see a few comments above someone mentioned the Summon Night X Translation?

      well, if you look at some of the last few posts, you might find something interesting (look at who posted there and what he is doing there :P)

      regarding this, there is nothing, sadly, work on the new content Vincent poked at seems to be on a general hiatus from the translator's side, and we don't plan on updating the FE12 names anytime soon, sadly

  21. I know that this is not related to fire emblem, but if any of you are interested, Skyblade is working on an translation patch for final fantasy type-0, if any of you guys are interested, you could help translating the patch.
