On behalf of Vincent who apparently didn't feel it needed a post, he updated the progress pagethat I've been meaning to update and was just about to. Check it out.
Yes, it takes long. For Agromono and TheEnd. I only spend a few hours a week on this now though I originally spent like a dozen hours a week or so I think, and Vincent probably spent just as much if not more time, but for the past 4-5 months Vincent and I have been relatively chill, the localizers are also pretty chill also spending only a few hours a week... or sometimes none, and the rest of the team is pretty on and off, sometimes not doing anything for extended periods of times, and then helping out on occasion when needed--this mainly applies to Nintenlord and NTG. Arch is just pure inactive and I'm going to kick him off the team when I stop procrastinating it... which is not now.
As for why I'm telling you this private info, I must be bored. No, I'm not, I have stuff to do. Then, it just means I am in a ranting mood. Part of my personality, I love ranting. <3
Fuk yu gys and yer fuking game transaltion. It dosnt fuking patch on my computr. Yer fuking fags and shod all go to fuking hel. My butifal pc is brokin bcause of yu. I hope yer fuking hapy.
The funniest part about the anon 2 posts ago was that he took care to capitalize his sentences. Now delete his post before some poor kid sees it and thinks he's supposed to spell like that.
Hi, Blazer. I've been gathering information for my own Korean translation project for Fire Emblem 12, and luckily I happened to find your blog. I was very impressed with your work and progress, excited that I could refer your translation patch for my own one. Also I found that you uploaded documentation about the ROM hacking. It's obviously helpful, but I'm still in trouble regarding 'fonts' FE is using.
I need to edit the fonts for inserting Korean characters into the rom, but there's no mention of these in the documentation, and that's why I decided to write this question to you. With my poor skills I confirmed that there are at least three possible different fonts and they are compressed, but I couldn't figure out what kind of algorithm they used clearly. The font named 'fonts\system' seems to be compressed with LZ77 (CrystalTile2 told me so. But uncompressed, it still looks weird), but I totally have no ideas what kind of algorithm the other fonts used.
I'm wondering whether there is any piece of information you can share. Could you hint me anything about the fonts so that I can overcome these adversities?
I also apologize for my poor English. I hope it wouldn't have disturbed you reading this comment.
Yeah, no, it wasn't us. Learn something about computers before you throw out complaints...
@Bluboks Hah, like the most recent Anon said, your English is fine. Anyhow, you're free to use our translations and programs for your translation patch once it is released. However, you are right--you still need to insert a Korean font (fonts). While I didn't do the font work for our hack I can tell you that some of the glyphs are 4bpp, and some are 2bpp. You may have not tried looking at the graphics in 2bpp which is why they looked weird (possibly). I can also direct you to Vincent who did most if not all of the font work (it's been a while but I think he did *most* of it with some help from NTG). He owns Serenes Forest and you can find his account there ("VincentASM") which you can either PM or e-mail. You're also free to make a topic in Serenes Forest' hacking forum for help there (though I'm guessing only Vincent and I will respond with something useful, lol). Note that the program we use to edit text is going to be public and I'll release all documentation I have written up that I think could be useful, but I won't be writing special documentation about things I just... didn't take notes about (sorry, I'm not the ideal hacker who takes notes on everything) and that still leaves you to edit graphical text and insert the fonts.
But ultimately, just contact Vincent like above about the font and feel free to ask me about anything else since I do most of the... management stuff.
I couldn't express all my appreciation for your response more. Without your help, I couldn't do anything further and know where to go. I'll contact VincenASM as you told me. Again, I really thank you for your consideration. It's one of the best and kindest answer I've ever taken on the Internet :) I'll keep my eyes on your progress wishing good luck on your project.
I feel you, a lot of people aren't very nice about others asking for help. Actually, sometimes I'm not too, though it really depends on 1) how you ask, 2) if you've already tried/seem to take some initiative and 3) whether you ask at all, since some people think that people online are obliged to help them. >_> You've obviously tried, asked nicely (too nicely maybe), and you asked, didn't order, so I didn't think twice about trying to help.
A little psychology rant there, my e-mail is smashfire17@gmail.com if you need to contact me. I check my e-mail multiple times a day so hit me up there if need be.
You're getting close, Thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteI can't thank you guys enough. You spend long amounts of time (I'm assuming it takes long) On translating a game for others to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt looks somewhat near done, your all awesome!!
Thank you! now my friend will stop insisting there's been no progress since the second!
ReplyDeleteTank you guys for doing this, you are true heroes.
Of shadow.

ReplyDeletei take back what i said earlier. your heroes of LIGHT.
It looks like you guys have got quite a bit of work done! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the poll, I'll be using a flash cart. DS emulators run too slowly on my comp. >>
So it's just the main bulk of story and the graphics to go now? You're pretty close, guys. Well done, and thank you!

ReplyDeleteSure it is. What that means is you ran the wrong file, or just did something wrong.
DeleteBut I doubt it had anything to do with this patch. You need to settle down man. PC's are fixable.
^^^^^^what i would say in a nice mood.
this is what I would say in a troll mood instead: Shoulda bought a Mac.
u mad bro?
Deletewho me? Of course not! Why would I be mad about this...
Deletenot you, the troll XD
DeleteYour "butifal pc" probably got broken from downloading too much porn.
DeleteOh god, what a butifal comment. Geez, Blazer, you have to put up with a lot, don't you?
Delete@Last Anonymous: If you are stupid enough to believe that's what broke your computer, you got what's coming to you, you f***wit.

ReplyDeleteForgive me if you don't think it's funny, but I laughed after seeing all those typos, yet it was properly capitalized.
ReplyDeleteGreat work guys! Can't wait for the full translation!
ReplyDelete*Ignoring the stupid troll upstairs* Great job guys!!!!! You're so going to Heaven for this !!! T.T
