Q: What is this site/project about?
A: Translating a Japanese game, Fire Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow, the 12th installment into the series, into English, by fans.
Q: What is a patch and how do I use it?
A: A patch contains changes to a file. Instructions on using patches are usually given in the download.
Q: When will this translation finish?
A: A project like this is very unpredictable and everyone on the team has a life, so we can't say.
Q: Will this be a complete translation?
A: Yes.
Q: When I patch version 2.0.1 or lower, only the menus are translated, but in videos and/or screenshots it shows it being fully translated, did I do something wrong? How do I get the full translation?
A: If there is no higher/newer version this means the translation isn't complete. The next patch will be when the game is complete, so you will have to wait until then. Screenshots and videos are just of our own progress, that is they are demos.
Q: How can I help?
A: Just keep up with the project and let us know what you think. The translation is for the fans.
Q: What name translations will you use?
A: FE11 names will be retained for consistency. Other names will be translated and in some cases "localized" as seen fit by the translation team. Some names may be "localized" due to text length restrictions or other restrictions.
Q: Where can I get a patch?
A: The downloads section.
Q: Where can I find screenshots, videos, etc.?
A: In blog posts as well as in the individual pages.
Q: Can I LP/video walkthrough/video playthrough this game freely?
A: Yes. I also suggest you link to the blog so that players can get the latest version of the patch (they'll end up bugging you about it anyway, so leaving a link in the video description is the ideal thing to do IMO).
Q: Can I use this patch as a basis for other hacks/translations?
A: Yes. However, please give credit to the original FE12 Translation Team and all its members for the translation patch used as a lot of effort has been put in/is being put into this translation.
Q: Do you plan to translate all downloadable chapters, additional features, etc., such as the Wi-Fi shop?
A: Yes. Anything within our hacking capability, we plan to translate, and we think we have the resources to translate downloadable content.
