Blazer's Proofreading Feed: Day 2

Blazer

5:45 PM: Been setting stuff up for like... half an hour? Now I can get started on 001. Not only are the scripts smaller but they should be less... annoying in general, due to their nature, so this should be fast. Plus, I'll be faster now that I'm experienced. :)

6:25 PM: Well, I totally forgot that the text editor was updated from the older prologue scripts, so I had to get used to new names for old codes... but anyway, I at least finished chapter 1. I'm still not over the fact that this game actually has some kind of a story...

7:50 PM: Some drama happened on my Fire Emblem fansite distracting me since the last update. Furthermore, I'm now tired, so I'm going offline for a little... will start chapter 2 when I get back.

10:01 PM: Well, thanks to various crap I haven't made much progress, but I think I can finally start chapter 2 now... *sigh*

11:40 PM: Sorry, I forgot to say that I finished chapter 2... then I almost finished chapter 3 except a few text entries won't load. I'm going to have to ask Vincent about that (because he's smarter than me so if I can't figure it out, maybe he can) as soon as I finish typing this update. So I guess that means I'm done spending all of my free-time proofreading/formatting text until I get this fixed... I sound sad but I'm actually kinda happy I hit this roadblock, lol. Maybe I can play Path of Radiance or Xenoblade Chronicles...

Day 2 feed is finished.

  4. I'm not sure if the progress page has been updated recently, so thats why I'm asking but, once proofreading is finished, how much more needs to be done till a final release comes?

  5. thanks

@Anon before me, graphics, betatesting, and a few technical hacks will probably have to be done... there's also translation accuracy checking as well. We still have a bit to go, for many projects the proofreading/testing takes more time than the initial translation (take Tales of Vesperia's PS3 fan-translation for instance >_>').

  7. Is xenoblade actually a good game? What game would you consider most similar to it

    1. yes

      um

it's a JRPG with some of the most epic geography you'll ever find, an awesome British cast, epic music, and plenty of unique features, but also various gameplay flaws and a plot that, depending on your expectations, may or may not be good; I've heard valid arguments for both. As for what it's similar to, it's more similar to like... a one-player MMO. Idk, watch a couple of videos and see for yourself. -I- think it's a good game, but that doesn't mean you will.

    2. Xenoblade is what the new final fantasies were trying to be,but even better
it's great, story, characters, music, the world you name it. It's just an incredibly refreshing jrpg, even the mascot character is awesome. The game can also be challenging and exploring the world is just...sigh i almost love xenoblade more then blazer.ALMOST
to me,it's a top 3 game with the only major fault being in most of the OPTIONAL quests of the game, thankfully, you don't NEED to do most of them too(and there are some great quests too)
now do yourself a favor and go learn a bit more/buy the game already, you won't be disappointed.

    1. well, Vincent fixed the problem probably by trying random things until it worked (if he's not smarter, which I'm sure he is but hypothetically speaking, he's at least more creative, LOL), so I'll be back to it once I'm able to mimic the fix on my own and get moar free time...

  9. Hey Blazer, would you say we are in the final stretch?
If you need any help proof reading, I can give you a hand.
    I'm pretty decent at hacking/editing.

Thanks again to the whole team for all your hard work.

    1. no thanks, VincentASM's standards are so high that even I'm not making the cut, haha. I'm going to have to go back and figure out his standards and fix'm: the chance of me trying to explain them to someone else is going to be like, impossible given that I'm not even doing a good job (according to Vincent--no offense Vince, I know you love FE3 and I am trying my best to be awesome like you. D:)

  10. You're the man Blazer, keep it up. If only you guys had more people doing it, it would take less time and be healthier for you. I know you can't trust the random shmucks that post here but surely there are some more folks over at Serenes that can identify proper spacing, line breaks, button queues, and whatnot?

    1. At Serenes?

Don't make me laugh, dude... all the intelligent people at Serenes have already contributed or are currently contributing to this translation. >_>

    2. Good thing I don't go to Serenes, then. I still have a chance to be considered intelligent!

Alternatively, ready as: ME IS GUD GENUS. AP SEZ ME GOT 5 ON COMPOOTUR SIE INS.

I like the second one better.
