Cryptic Post No. 1
As promised, I'm giving you a cryptic post.
Your clue is "The message was already posted."
I will not be revealing the answer (but I may provide a clue for this clue if needed), but you're free to guess (or not).
Also, I failed my driving test by doing a few silly mistakes, which may or may not have included accidentally running over a dog. Normal progress will recontinue shortly after I've drowned my sorrows with my mage girls and arranged or not arranged said dog's funeral.
No animals were hurt during the creation of this blog post.

ehhhh..... good luck with the dog's funeral... and the translation.
ReplyDeletesame here all my suport
ReplyDeleteand you know... even here in chile are waiting for you translation
Hey, I'm from Chile too.
DeleteI'm going to hazard a guess and say the message was that closed beta testing has started. I'm pretty sure TheEnd said something to that effect in the previous post.
ReplyDeleteAlternatively, it could be that they've decided on Tiki's nickname for MU, and the answer is hidden somewhere.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteStupid typos
DeleteWe'll make a proper, non-cryptic post when the beta test starts.
"One dog was harmed in the making of this translation. On the upside, you have our tireless efforts to thank for one less mess to be wary of stepping in on the sidewalk"
ReplyDelete(yes, i'm mean)
Adding this to the credit is an excellent idea
Delete(i'm mean too >:) )
Probably refers to TheEnd saying (indirectly) that they went with Mu-Mu in the last post's comments.
ReplyDelete(Sudden realization) Holy buttnuggets! Aveyn is my age! How come I can't learn a foreign language so early?! *grumble grumble*
Delete...
(Second sudden realization) TheEnd said Blazer was youngest except Illumio, so... I'm older than Blazer?!?!?! HOLY BUTTNUGGETS!!! Remember that, perverted anons! You're all PEDOPHILES!!!
I concur with your guess. Kinda confused on how criticism of one thing is approval of another though. :/ Like if someone asks if you want salt in your tea and when you say no they put mustard.
DeleteKinda wish I didn't know what Mu-Mu stood for at least. Knowing it in metaspeak is just kinda...ehh.(-_-')
Vincent has a bad habit of giving out spoilers like that
DeleteI'm afraid he learned from Falcom
Anon: "huh...well i'm curious now
Deletethough i wouldn't like mu-mu :|"
TheEnd: "That's too bad"
Anon: "Well jeez, did you guys really even care about our opinion? :/"
...
TheEnd: "It's too late
You have blasted -Mar, and you have my thanks for that
Now Vincent can focus on checking the two remaining pairs of files so we can start the testing and get this done with"
I really wish we could have kept that a surprise, but I suppose it was not meant to be
DeleteNot meant t- You're the one who revealed it!
DeleteTaking Vincent's blame is part of my job, too
DeleteUh... Aveyn said "the message was already posted." Apparently in reference to your previous post. He never mentioned what the result was. "Vincent's blame"? Am I missing something?
DeleteI'm pretty sure Vincent's older than me, not everyone gets their drivers licenses at like 16 or whenever the legal age is in whatever country a person is in
Deleteand I'm 18 and Illumio is like 14 probably btw :|
I'm...more disturbed you ran over a dog...How the fuck did you do that?
ReplyDeleteohhhhhh man i love riddles. maybe this has to do with the "108" on the bottom part of the image in the last post? or maybe that's just a thing for identifying the convo? i'm not about to backtrack through every post and check all comments, so maybe another clue? or i'll just wait till you reveal the truth, tortured by over-analyzation of this blog.
ReplyDeletealso: that must have put a real damper on your driving exam.
don't play games, i have to know! "108"....it must mean something!
Deleteor maybe i'm just delusionally hoping for something ingenious. oh well.
Holy crap, the people translating this are just learning to drive?!? I feel old, and I'm only 21!
ReplyDeleteVincent/Aveyn is older than you, actually
DeleteThats sad, hope this won't effect the translation.
ReplyDeleteYour brutal murder of a passing dog will make you a better person in the long run, or it will lead to a life of abuse, lost promises and fluffy corpses.
ReplyDeleteGiven your regret I am hyping out for the first option. You'll be a more careful driver than average and the world will be happier for it!
I'll also just throw it out there that most people fail the first time, not....in the same way......but still my point, much like whatever I house in my pants, stands!
Oh, so THAT's what you mean when you talk about hype organs...
Delete...ew.
you can do it another time is your first try.
ReplyDelete"The message was already posted."
ReplyDeleteI'll put a dollar on that it means that the translation isn't finished.
o.o Not sure if I should take the killed dog thing seriously. That's seriously depressing if it's true.
ReplyDeleteyou ran over a dog?! i knew this translation was over when blazer left disgruntled!
ReplyDeleteHow old are the people HoS crew?
ReplyDelete16-29
Deletewell i hope that said dog has a happy afterlife
ReplyDeleteWhaaat's the answer!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteOr what's the clue to this clue.. haha.
Great work all around though.
And sorry about the dog..
NO DOGS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS BLOG POST.
ReplyDeleteA CAT GOT SICK AND SOMEBODY SHOT A DUCK, BUT THAT'S IT.
I hope you weren't serious about that dog's death.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you said that no dogs were harmed in making of the blog post, but that's because you harmed the dog prior of making the blog post.
^
DeleteJust for the record, I have no idea what Vincent means either :|
ReplyDeleteXD
Vincent meaning and name origin
DeleteVincent \v(i)-nce-nt, vin-cent\ as a boy's name is pronounced VIN-sent. It is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Vincent is "prevailing". From Vincentius. The name ultimately derives from Latin "vincere", meaning "to conquer". Steadily used since the early Christian days. Saint Vincent de Paul, a 17th-century priest, founded an order of missionary brothers. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society, an international charitable organization, was founded in his honor in the 19th century. Vincenzo and Vincente are Italian forms; Vicente is Spanish. Painter Vincent Van Gogh; film director Vincente Minnelli; actors Vincent Gardenia, Vince Vaughn, Vin Diesel, Vincent D'Onofrio, Vinnie Jones; football coach Vince Lombardi; basketball player Vince Carter.
Vincent has 19 variant forms: Vicente, Vicenzio, Vicenzo, Vin, Vince, Vincens, Vincente, Vincentius, Vincents, Vincenty, Vincenz, Vincenzio, Vincenzo, Vincien, Vinicent, Vinnie, Vinny, Vinzenz and Wincenty.
A baby name that sounds like Vincent is Vinson.
you're welcome
good joke XD
Deleteunless you seriously thought I meant what his name means and not what his cryptic post/message means and whatnot XD
Ya need to man up and go back to work and forget about that worthless creature.... JK, yea you should probably have that funeral and pay your respects to the owners of the dog. Take your time to let your emotions out, we're patient.... or at least I am.
ReplyDeleteUpdate the progress % please and thank you <333
ReplyDeletei think you are more deserving of my alter ego, Overlee D. Manding, than i Anon....
DeleteGuess not everyone is as patient as you are, anon.
ReplyDeleteI think the cryptic message was in this bit of text "
ReplyDeleteBefore you get your hopes up (if you haven't been keeping up with the blog recently), this does NOT mean the patch is almost done. Well, it is sorta, but there's still a lot of work that needs to be done. It just means I won't be posting any progress until the patch is ready. Although, if I'm bored, I *may* post some cryptic images."
:D
That's where he said he might post cryptic messages, but what in there do you think this cryptic message is actually referring to?
DeleteHe said 'cryptic images'. But there is no image in this post. But he would not post anything else until the completion of the patch. Therefore...the patch is ready?
Delete...Nah.
By the way, everyone: "*may or may not* have included accidentally running over a dog" ... "arranged *or not* arranged said dog's funeral" ... "No animals were hurt during the creation of this blog post."
I don't think Vincent actually killed a dog, guys. He just isn't ready to be a driver and needed to give us a distraction from that (not really so) shameful fact. But it's okay, Vinny. We're here for you. We support you.
Hey, maybe the fictional dog is part of the cryptic image. Or maybe the fact that the dog was thought up as a distraction signifies the reality that this post is merely a distraction for us readers while we wait for the completion of the patch.
...I'm an English literature student. I could sit here analysing the (in)significance of the dog all night, but when it comes to the main point, 'The message was already posted', I can't think of anything. Typical.
Meh. I'm more of cat person anyways.
ReplyDeleteman... dieing here *sadface*
ReplyDelete"The message was already posted."
ReplyDelete"...the estimated release date has been revised as anywhere from 15th October 2012 to 31st December 2012."
The day is coming...
15th october to 31st december is a long long period
DeleteSpoiler: unless we run into some nasty bugs, it should be out in November.
DeleteHow do you solve the riddle? What's 156 suppose to mean?
DeleteNot sure if it's an idiotic jump or not but, "The message was already posted" makes me think they already posted a cryptic image and no-one twigged.
ReplyDeleteAnd looking back at the last blog post, just underneath the image with Tiki talking to My Unit, there's the number 108 in pretty dark grey writing on a black background.
I'll take a wild guess and say that the number 108 links to the 211 My Unit support conversations that the team mentioned they had yet to translate and bug check. So I assume that the Tiki conversation was the 108th they'd completed meaning they're about half way through the supports.
sherlock holmes is that you?
DeleteTbh couldn't care less for a cryptic post,
ReplyDeletethere's no point to it other then distracting us as someone
had already pointed out. Just give us the usual progress reports
we're dying enough in anticipation of this patch release and i think
you owe it to us to at least keep us long time fans updated.
That is all.
why does he owe anything to you? if anything it's the reverse.
DeleteNo kidding, jerk. With all the work they've done for us for no other reason than to make us happy, they owe us exactly nothing. Anyway, it doesn't sound like there's anything left to update with. TheEnd said it's probably coming next month. Not exactly a lot to update on. Cryptic posts are better than nothing, and they don't even have to give us that. Quite frankly, if they just stopped working, what would be the problem for them? Besides a lot of work wasted, there's not really any reason they have to do anything at this point. But they're nice, so they're translating it for us. So be nice and don't whine.
Deleteyou guys, shut up,the first anon is right.
DeleteWE DEMAND a progress report on this FREE FAN made translation post-haste as we are paying you AND FUNDING you with imaginary internet monies(they are 1000:1 dollars btw)we are ENTITLES to NEEDING to know the progress of this translation that we BASICALLY OWN since we give you so much money(and you guys are making even more money with this free translation right)
ALSO,go and change mu-mu to uncle/big bro since we are giving you so muc- yeah you get the idea.
if not,/sarcasm
Cryptic post? This should be fun,
ReplyDeleteGoing off the clue "The message was already posted." leads me to believe this points to the post on "Vincent-Mar", as previously stated with the "108" being the connection. However i believe the link is through the date. As Aveyn is supposedly from the UK, the date system works through YYYY-MM-DD. 108 would be the MM/DD (10/8) as YYYY would be an absurd amount of time to work with, which just happens to nicely fit the date in which this post was posted.
Now within the "Vincent-Mar" post should be the clue, however nothing in particular stands out to me (or i'm just an idiot >_< ) except for Blazers suggestion. Considering he is supposedly "quit the Fire Emblem 12: Translation Project " this leads me to believe that his suggestion "kni-kni" is in fact the clue.
This could point to various interpretations, however simply googling "kni kni" leads me to "knights who say ni", which obviously points to one conclusion. The entire fire emblem translation project has been abandoned and the project members are off watching Monty Python
Close enough?
No because the most recent clue gave 156 as the hint. That would mean the 15th month of the year in your case, or a March 6th release
DeleteThey said it would be released before 2012 ends
DeleteI think you sort of missed the point of my post
Deletetl;dr
Link is 108 because October 8
Clue is "kni kni" because blazer
Still unsure as to what it could mean. Maybe something to do with Aveyn "Kni"ght but i doubt it
As for 156 being clue number 2... well i don't think so, at least if it is, it wouldn't work the same way as 108 did.(ie not dates) (imo it would be silly to run 2 exactly the same puzzle one after another)
Also kind of surprised no one picked up on the UK actually being DD/MM/YYYY, not whatever i had above (personally i blame sleep deprivation @_@)Maybe i was thinking US or something, but it still doesn't change the connection. *crossesfingersandhopesthatmycorrecttionisntwrong*
Adding to why i think "kni kni" is the clue:
"Blazer October 11, 2012 7:25 PM
okay, I don't even remember making such a ridiculous suggestion ever, not to mention I haven't been involved in these silly debates in a long time <_> XD"
Well anyway... on to clue 2
Kni-Kni... I assume that's just a nickname for "Knight," since the player is a knight. It's a title that applies to the player no matter what his name is.
DeleteAs for what was "already posted"... I've already said I think it refers to TheEnd's comments about Mu-Mu, which I quoted above. And since TheEnd not only hasn't denied it, but has responded to the posts in a way that implies I'm correct ("I really wish we could have kept that a surprise, but I suppose it was not meant to be"), I'm gonna have to say that it's Mu-Mu.
I honestly can't understand why this is still being debated, since I haven't received a counter-argument or even an acknowledgement except comments from TheEnd and Blazer (which didn't deny/indirectly confirmed it) and a concurrence from one anon. Isn't the debate over?
