My girlfriend's account, sorry about that. God I've been following this blog for more then a year now. I've been checking daily and I felt like I had to. Because you guys are so dedicated, you deserve fans who are evenly dedicated. For not only you, but we as well are the heroes of shadow!
Just a bit curious on how to retain the save data from the old patch and apply it to the new one. I have put in a lot of progress in the game and i don't want to lose it!
Presuming you're using Desmume (since it's probably the most popular DS emulator), go into the folder labelled Battery, find the .dsv file for the old ROM (say it's named oldrom.dsv), and rename it to whatever your new rom's name is (e.g. if your new rom is newrom.nds, rename the save file from oldrom.dsv to newrom.dsv)
If you're using No$GBA or something, just rename the newly-patched rom to whatever the battery save is called. Or rename the battery save to whatever the new rom is called. Also delete the old rom so you and your computer don't get confused.
Shouldn't that be "I can't quite release the patch.", or "I can't quite release a patch (far less correct)" or "I can't release a patch for you yet." Any of those would be fine.
Oh the sweet kiss of Sarcasm. First time in a while somebody other than me has been sarcastic lately I missed that feeling. (If by some strange oddity you aren't being sarcastic I don't even have words for that.)
On the other side, Brazil have a holiday ( two actually ) that started on Thursday and ends on Tuesday yay...i was hoping they would release it during this, but i still have tomorrow...
Had to fix that. What I meant was Yes the Canadian Thanksgiving is in October what I think my first version sounded like was that the American one is in October which isn't true.
I'm not an old follower of this blog but I admire the dedication that you put in this work. Thank you guys! Even if it isn't uploaded now, I need to say you that I really love your work, Srly. I'm so excited for the patch...

Thanks for all your hard work guys! This translation patch got me back into Fire Emblem and got me to play Genealogy of the Holy War, on Gen 2 now hopefully I can beat it before the patch arrives!
Oh man--suddenly, the Fire Emblem fanbase seems a lot bigger and livelier... And I'm really happy to see people so eagerly await what started off as another one of my silly little hacker endeavors. I'd like to thank everyone on the team for all of their hard work and commitment. I was very disappointed when I discovered that FE12 wasn't going to be localized. Without this translation I never would have much of a chance at playing this game. Or if I did play through it, I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much. So thank each and every one of you on the translation team for any and all contributions that you have made to this. This is a very amazing contribution to the community. I've been watching the progress on this for a very long time now, and it's almost strange to see it actually this close to completion. Thank you, Heroes of Shadow. I'll be (impatiently) awaiting the complete patch, but I know that we'll have it soon enough.
this is by far the best patch in the history of FE and possibly the nds ...period. You made every FE fans dream a reality and did it the best way possible....many thx forever

ReplyDeleteYou might want to change your sound settings to cosine + synchronous if you want the opening and ending themes to play right.
DeleteOtherwise, nothing of note, even because Desmume can detect battery types anyway.

ReplyDeleteDon't worry about that. Like the 2.0.1 patch, you'll just need to drag the rom on top of the patch file that's provided and it'll patch.
