It'll never happen

TheEnd

But I've heard whispers of people who can freely manipulate their dreams and experience it.

... what, you thought I was talking about the patch?

Our closed beta goes on, and most of the team has either already reached the middle point of the main story, or is close to doing so. Except Blazer. Remind me why he's still in the team? Oh yeah, we need him to fix the crashes we find.

Vincent will be the one to post the patch, so don't get too excited unless you see a blonde Falcom girl at the top of a news post. But it really should happen before our fabled 11/27, unless we run into serious issues.

Keep your fingers crossed, etc.

  3. Ha, well, hope you guys don't run into any series crashes. :)

  4. Ugh, that's why im one of the few who oppose updates until the patch is released. With titles like "closing remarks" and now "it'll never happen", you guys are playing with my emotion :(

And I can't stop visiting this site everyday now. fml

  6. What is the team going to do after the work is done? Will everyone go their separate ways or remain Heroes of Shadow making video game history?

    1. Well, I can imagine someone saying this in the near future:

They are the heroes the internet deserves, but not the ones it needs right now. So we'll pester them, because they can take it. Because they're not our heroes. They're the silent translators. The watchful beta checkers. The Heroes of Shadow.

    2. lol, sadly I've already kinda gone my own way, I doubt I'll talk to the team anymore once the translation is out and stuff too ;( I might talk to Vincent or Agro once in a while though XP

and I assume everyone else will mostly be the same way, minus Vincent/NTG/TheEnd since they were kinda buddies before this started I think XD

    3. Hm... Serenes Forest doesn't list any of the other Fire Emblem patches as 100% complete... 4 is only 90%, and you did say you like that one, TheEnd...
Nah, I'm kidding. But not really. Someone ought to mop that up at some point. If only I spoke Japanese...

    4. I studied Japanese specifically because of FE4 (and TitS), actually

      Delete
    5. Um... "TitS?" While I'd prefer not to go there, I have no idea what you actually mean by that.
But that aside, DOES THAT MEAN YOU'LL DO IT?!?!?!
      Just kidding. But not really.

    6. Trails in the Sky (it isn't porn, incidentally)

Wait, does it mean I'll do what? FE4 is already translated. Twilkitri just can't successfully insert the ending script for some reason.

    7. Que frustracion! Termine varias veces Seisen no Keifu y nunca pude leer el final... y pensar que ya estaba traducido...
¿Se animara alguna vez Nintendo a hacer una Remake de ese genial juego?

      Delete
    8. Oh, wow, that project's ongoing? I could have sworn it was abandoned a few years back... DarkTwilkitri's page is last dated in 2006, but SF has a forum post from... May. Hm, well, that's really recent by internet standards. Guess that's that then.
...Darn, I'd hoped I'd found a way to keep the team together for something. Happy feelings gone...

So you got some replies on GBAtemp, just wanted to tell you that the ideas they have might actually fix the "lowercase letters" problem!

GO CHECK IT OUT RIGHT NOW.

  9. Okay everyone, I'll give you a reason why a thorough Beta is a GOOD THING. Anyone here played the TRS patch? Well, late in the game, you get to Morse Tower. At the top, you have to talk to an NPC to progress. She gives you three options.

All of them freeze the game.

The only solution found was to remove the patch completley, play past that part in Japanese, then re-apply the patch.

Needless to say, we do NOT want that happening with this. Keep up the good work guys.

    1. I heard the TRS translation completely falls apart halfway through the game...

    2. Baw, and I kinda wanted to play that translation... D:

    3. To sum up: First 8 chapters: Amazing, almost proffesional localisation quality. Chapter 10 on quality takes a massive nosedive, but it's still readable. After chapter 30 the game becomes a hilarious Engrish-fest.

It seems they just decided to release the patch incomplete because everyone kept nagging them about it. (hint hint)

    4. I did sign up to be an editor for the project but upon reading the scripts it became evident that the translator for the later chapters was not a native English speaker... at all.

      Delete
    5. I don't think English was even the dude's 3rd language, the way it was going.
      Painful, almost.

I'm not playing TRS until and unless I can play it in the original now :negative:
(my main incentive to learn Japanese is Falcom though :3 )

  10. Blazer is as important as patch. Maybe Blazer is patch? Maybe Blazer is actually a jacket you wear for translations? OR CODENAME?!?!? Oh god, I'm hyping again.

    1. Or maybe we call it Blazer cause it's not a real person but actually TheEnd wearing an old blazer jacket that is really torn up and covered in patches. *the plot thickens* DUN DUN DUN.

  11. Now that we've reached the 50% mark in beta testing, I feel that this is 100% necessary.

    1. The random Japanese symbols you have for a name makes that kinda ironic.

      Delete
    2. That isn't irony.

      Delete
    3. Wouldn't that be closer to being a hypocrite?

      Delete
    4. Irony: an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.

      via Dictionary

someone with a name in Asian text, wanting an English copy of an Asian game qualifies as irony under this definition.

I hate when people think they know more than me zzz.

      Delete
    5. I swear, it seems like most people these days seem to believe that there is no such thing as irony.

      Delete
    6. Exactly; he didn't expect anything to occur. For it to be ironic, he had to have been aiming for a certain outcome, and then have the opposite happen. That would have been irony.

      Delete
    7. Not really, unless you're being pedantic about the meaning of the word "outcome" in this context.

Like it's ironic that you're being so insistent on this.

  17. Thanks for all of your hard work! So excited to play :)!!!
